James Buckle

James BuckleJames has a career spanning over 25 years in sales and marketing that includes a long association with Encyclopaedia Britannica. Over the past ten years he has progressed through many roles in the organisation (Retail Channel Manager, Product Manager Asia Pacific and General Manager Sales & Marketing) to his current position. This long association with EBA positions James with an in depth and hands on knowledge of almost every aspect of EBA’s business. From direct sales and distribution through SE Asia to the production of new online and electronic products to call centre and logistical management. James is a Fellow of Australian Sales & Marketing Institute. One of the most exciting periods in James’ time with EBA was the transition from the traditional print business to the EBA of today, where Britannica content is provided in print, electronic, online and in a variety of formats and platforms - simply different ways of accessing the same proven and trusted information

Roland Smith

Executive Director Asia Pacific

Roland SmithRoland has worked with Britannica twice in his career and so has an extensive and deep knowledge of the entire product range and the diverse markets within which the Company operates. He has over 25 years experience in general management and sales & marketing in organisations from market sectors as diverse as construction to electronic media production. Roland holds formal qualifications in electrical & electronic engineering and has been awarded a number of prestigious marketing awards including the HIA Gold Marketing Award and runner up in the National Manufacturers Council Awards. Roland’s primary responsibility is our markets in SE Asia and China.

Camille Davey

Director Education & Library Services Aust/NZ

Camille DaveyCamille has worked as a sales and marketing professional all her career and for over ten years has focused on the specialist field of bringing technology hardware, software and content to the education sector. Throughout her career Camille has been recognised for measurable sales and marketing outcomes, outcomes that deliver benefits to company and customer alike. Her experience is as wide as confectionary and publishing, training and technology. Based on this experience Camille is able to bring a complete integrated end to end service to the institutional and educational sector of EBA’s market.

Tammy Rose

Financial Controller

Tammy GohTammy joined Britannica in May 2011, she brings a depth of experience from industry sectors as varied as boutique retail Australian fashion to global IT service maintenance, where she managed a team of 10 staff handling financial aspects for offices in Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, India and The Netherlands. Tammy also spent 8 years in private practice as a senior accountant. She is an accredited Chartered Accountant and holds a Masters Degree in Commerce (Accounting) and a Bachelors Degree in Engineering. Tammy is responsible for the supervision, preparation & direction of the company’s financial management, tax, compliance & Company Secretarial duties for the Australian & Taiwanese operations.

Hee Jeng Tou

IT Manager

Hee Jeng TouHee Jeng has been with EBA for nearly 18 years and is now responsible for the management and operations of the entire IT system in Australia. This includes the development and support of e-commerce applications, office applications and saw her lead the team in the migration of the financial management system from old generation to new generation applications – which has lead to increased levels of customer support and service including the fulfillment of new business requirements as one of her most important roles.

Ola Connelly

Education & Library Services Aust/NZ

Ola ConnellyOla joined Encyclopaedia Britannica Australia from the UK EB operation where she specialized in online services for the educational market, and so brings an additional perspective to EB’s Australian business. Her previous experience includes digital printing and picture research for a leading UK publisher and she has received a number of awards for sales and customer satisfaction. Ola holds a BA (Hons) in Art & Media and works across a wide spectrum of EBA’s business including online services for the educational sector.

Magda Kulbat

Institutional Marketing Coordinator

Magda KulbatMagda has wide experience in the important business area of customer service and support. Magda is primarily responsible for the technical administration of our Institutional customers. She holds a Masters Degrees in Marketing and Management. Magda’s previous experience includes appointments in Europe, the USA as well as Australia in industry sectors as diverse as telecommunications to hospitality and entertainment.

Miranda Lam

Account Manager

Miranda Lam Miranda joined Britannica in January 2011 and is the Account Manager for our South Asia partners. She has over 10 years working experience in sales and marketing including a sound understanding of the Asian business sector in particular. Apart from English, Miranda is fluent in Cantonese and has a working knowledge of Mandarin. Miranda holds a BSc and a Graduate Diploma in Marketing and has received a number of awards for sales achievement.

Helen Makarytchev

Account Manager

Helen MakarytchevHelen Makarytchev is a Chinese-born Australian who has lived and worked in Australia since 1995. She has formal qualifications in Marketing, and over ten years commercial experience in Sales & Marketing. Helen joined EBA in 2011. Her main duties are maintaining and developing business in Greater China and North Asia region directly and through our authorised distribution partners.

Pravina Mistry

Account Manager

Pravina Mistry Pravina joined Britannica in January 2011 as Account Manager with our Education Services Australia /New Zealand team. She has over 15 years experience in Sales & Marketing and specialises in providing training and support to our valued customers. Pravina describes herself as a hand’s on person who loves working with people. She has just completed a course in Business Administration

John Taylor

Education & Library Accounts

John TaylorJohn is a qualified (BEd, Dip RE) and experienced teacher (where he rates results from students as his highest achievement) who has had two spells with EBA. John is one of the few people in the Britannica world to ever have sold one of the prestigious Edinburgh Collection of Encyclopedias, a significant achievement. His experience has also included a number of years working in the private sector as a financial consultant in a sales and marketing role before joining EBA in 1993 to work in the education and library services.

Caroline Taylor

Admin & Accounts Assistant

Caroline TaylorCaroline started working with Britannica in early 2012.  She came from a background of accounts and administration, and has worked for a variety of companies.  Her duties include accounts receivable, accounts payable and reporting as well as other ad hoc projects.  Caroline has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and will soon be starting formal accountancy training.

Linda Wright

Manager Educational Initiatives

Linda WrightWith a career that has focused on understanding the needs of professional and academic clients, Linda is responsible for the development of EB’s business in the Australian school, library and tertiary education sector. Her previous experience includes working alongside clients in this sector and developing information strategies and solutions for both online and print. Her knowledge and experience of operations and systems means she has a thorough understanding of the practical implementation and roll out of solutions in the education environment, providing workable solutions that meet the needs of each customer.

Tori Zhao

Assistant Accountant

Tori Zhao Tori commenced with Britannica in early 2010. Her role covers accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory and general ledger. She also provides support to the financial controller with a reporting and compliance work. Tori’s previous work experience includes two years in an e-learning company as an accounts payable administrator and one year in a fund management as an accounting service officer.
